Learn about LIFTS, the shared core values that drive the men and women of the H&K Equipment Group.
Founded in 1983, H&K Equipment's corporate roots extend back to 1935, when Oliver Heidenrich opened a small shop in Dormont, Pennsylvania to sell lift trucks in the Pittsburgh region. From a modest, three-person outfit working out of a one-car garage, H&K Equipment has grown into a comprehensive leader in lift trucks, container handlers, railcar movers, personnel carriers, utility vehicles, yard trucks, and industrial floor cleaning machines. In 2020, H&K Equipment opened a second location in West Virginia to expand its footprint in the region and to better serve customers throughout the state and southern Ohio.
Today, H&K Equipment forms the foundation of the H&K Equipment Group, a vibrant team of seven companies working together from 12 locations in five states. Our sales, service, parts, and rental network includes the entire Mid-Atlantic and is steadily expanding to encompass much of North America, while our international reach now extends to six continents.

At H&K Equipment, the rental or the sale is only the beginning. We work with our customers for the entire life of their machines, starting with preventive maintenance and service plans that maximize uptime and reduce operating costs. And when equipment does break down, our quick-response road technicians can assess and resolve your problem onsite.
We understand that speed, accuracy, and convenience are critical for smooth operations, which is why we maintain an extensive parts inventory with over 30,000 items in stock. We also believe that there is no such thing as an unavailable part. Whether it's fabricating a component for an obscure custom vehicle or tracking down hard-to-find items for antiquated equipment, our professionals can solve any parts issue for any equipment.
And for heavy-use or aging machinery, we are one of the most experienced industrial refurbishing and remanufacturing shops in the nation. We tackle the toughest projects and tailor cost-effective solutions to any situation for any vehicle, no matter how specialized.
